Impastor – Michael Rosenbaum Comedy

Yes it was in my drafts but I am sure you can find the show online some place.  🙂

This was a surprise to me, I am so loving having my fave app back.  I am reviewing all of season 1. WARNINGS for all of SEASON 1 this is a TVLAND show.

This very first episode was not what I had expected it is rated MA for mature audiences you never know what that can mean.  This is a spiritual comedy with lots of irreverent remarks and such so if you are not a flexible type in your religious taste then skip it.

Michael’s character starts this show out in a bad way with men after to kill him because he owes them money.  He finds himself on a bridge on the verge of killing himself and he runs into someone.  This helpful man, Johnathon Barlow, winds up being killed through no one’s fault.   It is an accident of the clumsiest kind, not really anyone’s fault.  Suddenly this guy has a new shot at life, he simply drives off in the other man’s car and takes over his life.  Simple right, well we never know what other people are dealing with so NO of course it is not simple.  He basically jumped from one set of familiar circumstances to a new set.

The dead man was a pastor, a gay pastor with a bit of a open sexual side, which is why he was fired from the previous church.  Oddly our Buddy, which is the name the new pastor uses since its his real name, never actually discovers.

On his arrival in Ladner, the small town where the pastor had been hired he is welcomed with open arms.  The church assistant has been dealing with the hiring over the internet and so all he had to do was show up.  Quite convenient, of course they are unaware of the switch because they have no reason to believe they have welcomed an entirely different person into their hearts.

It is quite amusing how well Buddy is able to lie his way through various situations.  I believe part of this is that the church board members are ready to accept that a gay pastor might have some peculiarities they won’t understand.  There is a particular gay man who is on the church board always willing to go along with the oddities that Buddy tends to represent. Actually they are quite a liberal town.

Now this is the first time I have seen Sara Rue in a tv show since the one years ago with Eric Roberts, Less Than Perfect was the name of it. .  She has totally shrunken down to an unhealthy size.  Hollywood please let this woman gain some weight.
